My NICU Graduate's Journey
Samuel was born at 35 week and 2 days due to preeclampsia. He had trouble breathing, low blood sugar, and has very bad labs. He spent a week in the NICU on antibiotics and had a stomach line, as well as a tube down his throat. We were unable to hold him for the first 36 hours of his life. He has many blood-gas tests, and finally had his levels reach normal around 5 days old. He was 5 pounds 10 ounces and 18.5 inches at birth and is now 45 pounds and 42 inches at 3 years old.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
I am extremely proud of how far he has come and how healthy he is now. He is so smart and kind and you could never tell he was a preemie.
