My NICU Graduate's Journey
Adeline was admitted to the NICU at 24 hours old at 5 pounds 7 oz. She was delivered early due to mommy's preeclampsia and her own growth restriction. She was the second NICU baby in our family. Her older sister finished her journey when she gained her wings.
Adeline was induced at 34 weeks, but was stubborn and showed us from the start that she would do things her own way. The induction failed and Adeline came on her own 1 week to the day later. She could not keep her sugar up or her bilirubin down, but she fought hard and graduated 6 days later.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
She is a world class friend, an excellent, honor student and a champion wrestler! She shows over and over again that she will not let anyone keep her down or hold her back. She is a 3 time district wrestling champion and has gone on to receive 3rd place, 5th place and 6th place honors in State level wrestling.
My pride can not be contained when she shows her heart in caring for friends and family. She is the first to shake the hand of a veteran or give her own money to help those less fortunate than her. She serves on student counsel and is a junior librarian.
