NICU Hospital for my journeyTampa General Hospital
My NICU Graduate's JourneyNICU is a rollercoaster. We celebrate poops and urine output, to having a "boring" day. Ryan never would allow the nurses to wrap him up tight- foot must be out! Today, he still sleeps with his foot out. Rachel had to the worst journey. She got an infection that went to her blood and brain. Thankfully, with great medical staff she made a full recovery. Raelyn was our "take my time" baby. Why breathe on my own when a machine can for me! Our princess. But as milestones began to celebrate, she wanted to win. Last to start drinking from a bottle, but first to finish a bottle in one feed. Last to breathe on her own, first to come home. Raelyn graduated first after a 63 day Nicu stay on Friday August 25th. Ryan graduated after 65 days, Sunday August 27th. Rachel graduated after 66 days, Monday August 28th- on my birthday. After 3 miscarriages, triplet pregnancy, NICU journey, our family was completed on my birthday! We were all together!
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?Having triplets was scary, but even scarier having to bounce between three room, and all the machines. All three babies were unique and have their own journey. Our connection to the nurses put my heart at ease. Now we run around on the beach, jumping into pools, paddle boarding, and adventurous little people. You would never know their beginning was so hard. Babies are resilient.
