My NICU Graduate's Journey
Jakobi was born at just 28 weeks, already determined to take on the world. After two weeks in the NICU, doctors discovered he had a grade 4 brain bleed, but amazingly, he showed almost no signs or symptoms because he was always so calm and laid back.
He spent 75 days in the NICU, and those days were filled with both heartbreak and hope — definitely a rollercoaster of good days, hard days, setbacks, and victories. But through it all, he continued to fight and improve faster than anyone expected.
Our little warrior grew stronger every day and was even able to come home before his original due date. 💙

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
Jakobi must’ve forgotten he was a preemie with a brain bleed, because this boy takes on life full speed every single day. He’s wild, active, happy, and full of so much personality.
He struggles with sensory issues and loud noise sometimes, but he tries so incredibly hard at school and never stops pushing himself. He has the biggest heart — he wants to grow up to be a chef and help take care of babies.
He’s also the sweetest big brother. Even though him and his little brother are only 7 months apart, he’s always trying to help him whenever he’s struggling.
His smile and laugh can light up an entire room, and anyone who meets him instantly feels the joy he brings with him. 💙
