My NICU Graduate's Journey
She was born via emergency c/s at 27 5/7 week gestation because of a placental abruption in 1984. She was in the hospital for 2 months. She went on to have a healthy happy life, participating in all the sports! She did great academically, and graduated with a nursing degree in 2007. She then became a NICU nurse, working for 10 years before going back and becoming a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. She has been an NNP for 8 years now. She is married with two boys of her own and celebrated her 41st birthday last September.
