NICU Hospital for my journey

My NICU Graduate's Journey
At just 28 weeks and 0 days, my daughter Lyndie made her entrance into the world much sooner than expected. Everything happened incredibly fast. Within moments of her birth, doctors and nurses were working quickly to stabilize her tiny body. Because her lungs were still so underdeveloped, she needed to be intubated immediately to help her breathe. As a parent, it was terrifying watching such a small baby fight so hard from her very first breath.

The challenges continued when it came time to transfer her to a higher level NICU. It was December, and winter weather made it impossible for a helicopter to safely transport her. Instead, the medical team arranged for a fixed wing plane to take her to the hospital where she could receive the specialized care she needed. Watching your newborn leave on an airplane is something no parent ever imagines experiencing.

In the NICU, Lyndie showed everyone just how strong she was. Day after day, she fought through every obstacle placed in front of her. There were hard days, emotional moments, and many unknowns, but she continued to prove her resilience. The nurses and doctors cared for her tirelessly, and we celebrated every small victory along the way.

Today, Lyndie’s story is one of strength, perseverance, and hope. Even though she entered the world early, she has continued to inspire us every single day with her courage and determination.

What makes you proud of your NICU graduate?
What makes me most proud of Lyndie is that she has been a fighter since the day she was born. Arriving at just 28 weeks, she faced challenges that no baby should have to face, yet she fought through every obstacle with incredible strength. Even today, that same determination shows in everything she does. She is resilient, brave, and never gives up, no matter how hard something may seem.

Beyond her strength, Lyndie has the brightest spirit. She brings life and joy into every room she walks into. Her laugh, smile, and loving personality have a way of making everyone around her feel happier. She has such a big heart and a light that naturally draws people in. Watching her grow from a tiny NICU baby into the amazing little girl she is today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Her story is one of strength, hope, and perseverance, and I could not be more proud
