NICU Hospital for my journeyPresbyterian St Luke’s Denver
My NICU Graduate's JourneyLeo was born 5 weeks early after an exciting flight for life helicopter ride over Denver at sunset. He was having heart rate decelerations and was born via emergency c-section. He was a rockstar in the NICU but had to have his IV line in his forehead because he was so small. He was our unicorn baby and we joked about how long until he would be cordless. Our little one now is in kindergarten working on a plan to go to space. The NICU journey in 2020 was hard as we were masked and no other visitors were allowed. One of Leo’s first words was “mask,” really securing the times he was born into in our memories forever. Our 2020 NICU baby is now thriving.
What makes you proud of your NICU graduate? He is adaptable and flexible and has learned that some things take longer for him than his peers…but once he is ready, he always blows us out of the water!
