Cat or kitten's story or bio
In December 2013, we were looking for a young black male cat as I had lost my other black male cat to cancer in June. We had a young female cat at home and in addition to being my special cat, we wanted a playmate for Samantha. After visiting cats in all the cages at 9 Lives, the last cage that was opened had my Louie in it. He has been everything all of us ever wanted. He is a playmate to Samantha - you can make a circle through the rooms in our apartment and they will chase each other around & around. They have done this since 2013 and Samantha has never figured out that Louie comes around the back side to get her! He made my heart smile again after the loss of my precious Cassidy. When I am at the computer, he lays on his back in the kitchen & meows at me. When I get up, he runs to the closet where the toys are kept so we can play. His latest trick is to leap at the closet door like he is jumping for a bug. There really isn't a bug though and when I get up to "come see", he asks to play with the mouse toy, which he then jumps wildly for. He talks to me all the time and never takes NO for an answer. I love his optimism and belief that whatever he needs will be given. When I was young and our cats had kittens (different days back then), we always kept the orange kitties and found homes for the black ones. Little did I know, we were letting go of the best! Although I love them all, my house will always have at least one black cat!
