I pulled Sebastian from Houston's pound, BARC, to foster him several years ago, because he was on their "kill list". There wasn't anything wrong with him, but they were going to kill him because he had been adopted and returned and had been there a couple days. I discovered that he did not like other cats, liked big dogs, and that he already knew how to "sit" like a dog. He must have lived with big dogs at his previous home. But, every time that he went to adoption events, he growled he was next to other cats. Since he is a 20lb moose and growling, people were afraid of him. So, he just stayed with me. He now lives with my array of cats and Chihuahuas. Sometimes, it just takes a little work to find the right home for shelter pets.
