Lucy belonged to Red, a squatter we inherited after purchasing property along the San Jacinto River. Red lived on very little means, so I helped him with heartworm & flea preventative to make sure "Dog" stayed healthy. Dog was her original name - Red said he couldn't remember dog names unless they were people names. After time, he began calling her Lucy and I knew he liked her more than he was letting on. Red had many health issues & unfortunately passed away from a heart attack. As soon as I found out, I knew I had to go pick her up. We fostered Lucy for over two years with very little interest; she was about 8 years old by this point. She's now our old lady foster failure and we wouldn't have it any other way!
