Callisto is a shelter cat who came into our lives 14 years ago. A gorgeous tortie with a harlequin face and blond bib, she is named after Artemis’s favorite nymph who Zeus turned into a bear! Callisto is very athletic and a bit of an acrobat like a circus bear. She is extremely smart and knows many words and all her many nicknames, including “Lil Bear.” (She comes when she is called!) She is also very sensitive, and if I get upset about something, she comes to me and pats me gently on the arm.
