A paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the dog in the photo. Is this a NMAR dog? If so, how long has he or she been a part of your family? Can you share something special that we could include on our calendar if your photo wins?
OH MY DOG!
Often times, if you’re an ears shot away from my house, you may hear, “Nobody lives like this, Boj!” or “Give that back!” or “What the H#*! is that?!” or most often, “BOJANGLES!!”.
Mr. Bojangles came from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Southern Utah. I was volunteering in Dogtown and Boj was a current resident. Despite some red flags, (for example, knowing that it was difficult to find him the right kennel mate, his caretaker saying “no one has ever inquired about Mr. Bojangles before” and the adoption coordinator saying, “We are waving his adoption fee!”) he came home with me. This was the beginning of our adventure.
When Bojangles first arrived, he was continuously leashed to me for 6 months. It took 2.5 years of training every Saturday before I felt like he was able to go out in public. Bojangles is a handful to say the least.
Even though Boj thinks everything belongs to him, destroys my comforter at least every month, hides in the bathtub when it thunders, catches and kills birds mid flight, has been known to chase neighborhood cats up trees, engulfs my hand when taking a treat and persistently wakes me up each morning, 5 minutes before my alarm goes off, he’s the perfect dog for me.
Please vote for Bojangles so North Meck Animal Rescue can continue to save homeless dogs.
