North Toronto Cat Rescue (NTCR) was established by Donna Cox whose goal is to take vulnerable cats off the street and bring them into a secure environment, where they can live in complete safety until finding their permanent homes through adoption. Over the years, more than 3,000 cats have benefited from the services of NTCR and are now living the lives they deserve as part of a loving family.
In 2008, NTCR moved in to its current (temporary) shelter location where approximately 160 cats currently reside, away from the horrors of the street and the harsh lives they previously led. However, without a permanent home, the future of our cats, and others like them who still need to be rescued from the streets, is uncertain.
We desperately need your help to save these precious animals, and the GoGo Photo Contest is just one way of raising much-needed funds.
Without you and your support, over 160 cats could be relocated to other shelters in the GTA. However, many of these cats are considered "Unadoptable" -- their future is bleak and they face certain death.
The NTCR is the
only no-cage and no-kill facility in the GTA, and as long as we can continue moving forward, ALL our cats will have a
fur-ever home.
NTCR receives no form of financial support from the Province or the City, and operates purely on donations and the generosity of its supporters via adoption, sponsorship and donations. NTCR is also run entirely by volunteers. Its intake policy is non-discriminatory, and cats come to the shelter from all over the GTA (even as far as Quebec!). If the need is there, NTCR will do all that they can to respond and rescue any cat because we believe that every life is precious.
Without funds supporting the NTCR, it will fail to exist and this is just not an option. With your help, the NTCR will continue to offer security for its current cats and any new cats that come through its doors. No donation is too small, and you can be assured that every single cent/dollar raised will go towards providing essential shelter and support for the cats.
