Does your pet have what it takes to be the next President of the Niagara SPCA or perhaps the Vice President or the Secretary of the Shelter? Will he or she look over fellow rescued pets day in and day out with his/her picture gracing the walls of our adoption lobby? If you think your pet has the makings of a pet politician, enter the Niagara SPCA’s Presidential Pet Contest between October 17 and November 7, at 9pm. Upload your pet’s picture into the appropriate category: dog, cat or other (rabbits, lizards, snakes, hamsters, etc) for a chance for your pet to become the President, Vice President of Secretary of the shelter.
After you've uploaded the picture, it's time to campaign! Ask your family, friends and co-workers to vote for your pet! (each vote costs $1). This is super fun and easy! Put links on your Facebook, Twitter, blog, and at the bottom of your E-mails.
Don’t forget to tell your pet’s story! We want to know why he or she deserves to be the President of our shelter!
Prizes
1st Place (President):
The pet who receives the most votes will be inaugurated as the third President of the Niagara SPCA. His or her picture will be professionally taken and hung in our adoption lobby for a year beginning January 1, 2018. You will receive your pet’s photo after December 31, 2018. The President, Vice President and Secretary of the Shelter will have their photo on the inside of the 2019 Niagara SPCA calendar. He or she will also receive a custom made bed with the Presidential seal. The pet parent of the first place winner will receive a beautiful wine rack with 10 bottles of wine.
2nd Place (Vice President):
The pet in second place will be inaugurated as the Vice President, have his or her picture professionally taken and hung in our adoption lobby for one year and their picture on the inside cover of our 2019 Niagara SPCA calendar. The pet parent of the second place winner will also receive $100 in various gift cards including Home Depot, Petsmart and others and will receive $30 in scratch off lottery tickets.
3rd Place (Secretary of State):
The third place winner will be inaugurated as the Secretary of State, have his or her picture taken professionally to be placed on the wall of the shelter for 2018 and on the inside cover of the 2019 Niagara SPCA calendar. The owner of the third place winner will receive signed photographs from Buffalo Bills players Marcell Darius and Charles Clay.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 8.
