Perched on a branch in the wetlands of Mason Neck State Park, this prothonotary warbler stood out like a small jewel among the muted greens and browns of its swampy home. Often heard before it’s seen, its bright golden-yellow plumage and lively presence make this little swamp-dweller a delight to spot and photograph.
