We adopted Ridley from a high kill shelter in Hamilton Ontario in August of 2013. At that time, he was estimated to be approximately 12 years old.
Without delay, we had our veterinarian provide Ridley with a full medical examination upon which, it became apparent that Ridley suffered from advanced arthritis throughout his body and dysplasia in his left hip.
This is likely the reason Ridley was abandoned.
We immediately put Ridley on a rigorous pain management regime that included medication twice per day and cartrophen injections every week.
Ridley responded extremely well and went on to be one of the most pampered and demanding cats we have ever loved. What a love bug!
For the next 5 years, Ridley lived a life of luxury in the company of his three brothers Logan, Bimmer and Jasper – also rescues.
Sadly, in November of 2018 Ridley’s arthritis had advanced to a point where his quality of life had been compromised and we had to say goodbye to our ‘son’.
Even though he was only in our life for a short 5 years, it was the best 5 years of his life and ours. Ridley was so happy, so content and so loved. We will see him again when we ourselves cross the Rainbow Bridge. Until then Ridley, kisses from Mommy and Daddy.
