Meet Twix! Twix lives at OMHS because she's part of our Humane Education program. As an OMHS Ambassador, Twix visits schools and seniors’ residences in the community where she helps teach the children about kindness and brings comfort and joy for seniors. With her furry features and funny personality, Twix is an awesome ambassador! She’s super curious and loves to explore. Just like cats, guinea pigs purr when they are happy. They also like to pop! 'Popcorning' is a unique behaviour more commonly seen in young piggies when they are happy or excited. They jump up straight into the air over and over never seeming to tire.

Guinea pigs are very social by nature so it is recommended they have a friend or maybe two. Lucky for Twix, she's bonded with two other shelter guinea pigs - Reese and Kinder.
