Basil is an FIV cat. He has feline immunodeficiency virus, it's a slow virus that affects the immune system, which will make it difficult to fight off infections. He is the mascot of a social media account about FIV awareness.
Basil was born outside. He was TNR’d as a kitten and lived out there for 5 years until he was brought inside. When tested, it came back positive. Basil is now 10 and he loves living inside now, with his negative siblings. FIV is No Big Deal. #fivisnbd
