How are votes counted?
Donations made in support of an animal are valued at one vote for every $1.00.
Is there a fee to participate?
The entry fee is $25 and is tax-deductible. Tax receipts will be emailed to voters no later than August 31, 2021.
How do I get a top spot?
Fundraise! The Oakville & Milton Humane Society’s Calendar Contest is a fundraising activity to support homeless, neglected and abused animals in our community.
Do I have to live in Oakville or Milton to participate?
Participants and voters are not limited to the Towns of Oakville and Milton. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Who wins one of the calendar pages?
There are 13 full pages to win (the cover and each month). The top fundraiser will be awarded the cover. The top (5) dog photos, top five (5) cat photos, and top two (2) other pet photos will be awarded their own page in the 2022 Calendar.
If I win, what happens next?
If you win one of the 13 spots, you will be contacted directly by an Oakville & Milton Humane Society representative to schedule a specific time for your pet’s photo shoot between 10:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. The photo session will take place on site at 445 Cornwall Road, Oakville, Saturday June 12, 2021 (due to COVID-19, this may be subject to change).
Can I be disqualified?
The Oakville & Milton Humane Society reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of the animal or persons in a photo. The registration fee will not be refunded. Donations collected will be refunded if requested by the donor.
What will the Oakville & Milton Humane Society do with my pet's entry once it has been uploaded?
By agreeing to the waiver, you will also acknowledge and give permission to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society to use the name, story and photo of the animal entered in future publications and materials, including the 2022 Calendar.
When will I get my tax receipt?
Tax receipts will be emailed to voters no later than August 31, 2021.
