Meet Leo

A little over a year ago, I adopted Leo from the HSOMH (although his name was Jojo at the time), and from the moment I saw his photo online, something in me just knew he was meant to come home with me. After meeting him in person for only about 20 seconds, my decision was sealed - Leo was my cat.

It’s just the two of us at home, and he has completely filled my life with personality, routine, and love. Leo isn’t a lap cat, but he’s always close by. He loves curling up beside me on the couch or in bed, and one of his favorite ways to show affection is by gently nuzzling his face into mine while I pet him.

Leo is extremely vocal and makes sure I’m always aware of what he needs. Whether he’s hungry, wants to play, needs attention, or simply has something to say, he’s not shy about speaking up. He’s also taken over the role of my alarm clock - every morning without fail, he wakes me between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. to start our day.

He has lots of energy and prefers interactive playtime with me rather than playing alone. His favorite toy is surprisingly simple: hair ties. He loves when I flick them across the floor or toss them into the air so he can chase and catch them like a little athlete. He’s also a big fan of wet food, treats, and fresh cat grass.

Before I adopted him, I was told he had a history of being a “door dasher,” but he has never once tried to run outside with me. It’s clear he feels safe and happy in his home. Leo definitely runs the household now - and honestly, I let him, because he’s impossible to resist.

Adopting Leo has brought so much laughter, comfort, and companionship into my life. I’m incredibly grateful that I followed my heart that day, because he truly was the perfect choice for me.
