Gidget came to us from the Toronto Humane Society in 2018 - with her bonded friend, Iggy. To be completely honest, it was Iggy that told us we were taking her and her friend home. We hadn't even seen Gidget (at the time, named 'Duchy')- she was hiding at the back of the cat condo, tucked into a box, nervous and avoiding the big scary world. We took them both - no question. For weeks she hid under our bed, then in a closet, and at one point, across the hangers holding our winter coats! But slowly, she started exploring. Today she has more confidence than we ever thought she would have. She loves cuddles and being brushed. She loves to tell us it's been weeks since she's last been fed (though her belly might indicate otherwise!). She is sweet, affectionate, and gives the best head butts we have ever known. Our big girl - once a duchess, is now the queen of her own private [kitchen] island!
