Sam was adopted from Oneida County Humane Society in 2018. Sam was a special case, he didn't do well with most people, or other animals. He went through the New Beginnings program 2x, at McNaughton Correctional Facility and was at the shelter a very long time (over a year if I recall correctly).

Sam has come so far, in the years that my husband and I have had him. He has a few select friends, that can walk right into the house without behaviors. He started going on late night walks. He can see other people and dogs and ignore them at times, and he is much better at listening.

I don't know what Sam endured before he met us. After several meet and greets at the shelter, he finally gave us his butt and sat in our laps. We all knew at that moment, that he picked us!
