Story of Unconditional Love
I lost my nephew in December of 2015. He was a police officer killed by a drunk driver. In April while my family was still struggling with our pain, one of my nephew's coworkers posted a link on Facebook showing an OPH foster and litter of puppies named after fallen police officers. Even though I fell in love with the puppy named after my nephew, I already had two dogs, a 12-year old beagle/husky mix and my daughters dog, a 3-yr old maltipoo/beagle mix. We did not need another dog. But I applied anyway. My application was approved and all I had left to do was a phone interview with the OPH foster mom. I immediately liked the foster mom and found out her husband is also a police officer. Everything seemed like it was meant to be. A visit with the puppy sealed the deal. We brought Leah home, she fit right in with my other dogs. She has been a joy to us and has really helped to heal our hearts. My nephew was a dog lover and I know he's smiling down from heaven at his namesakes antics. She is my shadow and often lays at my feet when I'm cooking or trying to get things done. She loves to play in the flowers in our yard as seen in this picture. She has brought so much happiness to our family,
