Story of Unconditional Love
We got Aki almost 2 years ago, when he was 14 months old. He had been found with his siblings on an abandoned farm. He was 25lbs, quiet, and scared. He refused to eat for the first 3 days after we brought him home.
On the 4th day, Aki ate - but he would only eat out of our hands. He barked for the first time, too - when someone attempted to break into our apartment! Aki has been the #1 good boy from the beginning.
Aki is less shy, though still rather quiet, all this time later, but he will do anything if we do it with him. When we cross a stream on the Cabin John trail, he follows our footsteps across the stones. When he didn't initially get in the pool at Doggy Swim Day at our apartment complex, I got in with him and he swam with me. At night, he curls up with us and his doggy sister, going under the comforter to stay warm. At the dog park, everyone talks about stealing "the Ak man," but they never could because Aki takes note when we're even just 20 feet away.
Aki is the sweetest little guy, and even takes care of his spastic little doggy sister, who is 1 year old and a bundle of all the energy Aki doesn't have. Still, he plays and cuddles with her. We love our Ak man!
