Quinta is the quintessential OHS adoption and rescue story. Formally known as Queenie, this darling Chihuahua was struck by a vehicle and surrendered by her owners to the OHS. A public outreach was started to try and rescue her precious life. Quinta suffered a broken pelvis and, mutilated back left leg and crushed paw. We along with very hopeful , patient and caring OHS staff waited a long and grueling 6 months while this pup recovered. Fortunately our phone rang with the news that we had been selected as potential adoptive parents and the rest is history. Quinta leads a spoiled life with her two sibling feline brothers Tequila and Bojangles. Tequila lost his best buddy Scooter, a 13 year old Maine Coon just weeks before the adoption and ironically Quinta and Tequila hit it off and have become inseparable since. It's no secret that Chi's detest the cold and her brother sports a year round fur coat but you have to see these two to believe that it goes beyond a need of a warm friend on a frosty Canadian day. Quinta's favourite days are ahead as she knows cottage time is ahead and she can run freely and improve that leg and all the work her good friends did at the OHS when they rescued her.
