Your Pet's Story or Bio
Patrick became a part of my life in quite an unexpected way. After 15 years of companionship, my Toy Poodle, Rigobert, passed away. Devastated after losing my BFF -- my best fury friend, my home seemed so empty and lacking a presence. A couple of weeks had passed and my mother asked if I ever would consider getting another fur baby. Without hesitation, I said “yes”, not being able to image my life without the joy and love of having a fury friend by my side. After a brief discussion, I decided that his name would be “Albert”, as an homage to Rigobert, although my mom advocated for “Patrick” as namesake for her name “Patricia”. The conversation was left at that, and I thought nothing more of it. The following Saturday, Sky, at the OHS, called me to let me know that a stray from Orléans had been brought in. This Scottish Terrier / Schnauzer, was looking for his forever home, and Sky wanted to know if I would be interested in meeting him…oh and by the way, his name is Patrick! At that moment, I was sold, I knew that Rigobert was looking out for me and had brought Patrick and I together, knowing how much we needed each other. Thank you to the Ottawa Humane Society for my new companion, he’s pawfect!! lol
