Sibelle is a Maltese that was bred for the first 7 years of her life, and was then sold. Around Christmas 2024, her new owners were no longer able to keep her and decided that either euthanasia or surrendering was the only option due to some behavioral/health issues. The Minpinerie rescue reached out to see if I could pick her up on the 28th of December and urgently foster her. My partner and I drove to Quebec and picked her up. She was very timid and quiet the car ride back but when we brought her home to meet our dogs, she fell in love. She took to our doodle Ace immediately and wouldn't leave him alone. She then slowly started opening up to me, following me everywhere. If she wasn't with me, she was with Ace, that remains true. While we are still working on her issues with marking, including on Ace, she is an incredibly confident and happy girl. She would never admit it, but she also can't get enough scratches from her dad, despite barking if he moves at all with her three remaining teeth.

She has also brought a lot of comfort to our family after the loss of our beloved senior rescue Chihuahua, Lyra. Ace is now back to being his confident self, and they both thrive together. We are so grateful to have been asked to pick her up and having the opportunity to foster fail. She now gets to spend her life cuddling her brother and bullying her dad!
