Bird(s)' Story
Toast is a ringneck dove that was brought to The Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ with severe road rash along the back of his neck. Toast is a Ringneck Dove so release was not an option. I was working closely with another dove who had been scalped, Fig, and decided to take her home, as she was also non-releasable. Once her head healed enough, I introduced her to all of the other doves in our care, and it was love at first sight with Toast! Now Toast is a loving husband who loves bringing cotton swabs to their nest.
