Bird(s)' Story
Fenimore was found on a sidewalk, abandoned after a poultry show. For months she did not develop into a normal adult - instead she was juvenile, lethargic and obese. After a series of tests, our vet team diagnosed her as the first pigeon (and only the second bird ever) in the veterinary literature to present with primary hypothyroidism. She will need daily medication for life to treat her condition. She has grown new feathers and is energetic and finally able to fly. Fenimore now lives a happy normal life.
