This sweet bird is Sophie! She is a racing pigeon who was brought into the Elk Grove animal shelter with a wound from a bb gun. While telling care of Sophie, a lucky employee fell in love with her and built an aviary to bring her home! She was the very first pigeon we rescued and she's very near and dear to our hearts.
