I have been honored to call Dallas my friend, colleague, and roommate since he joined our family via Palomacy in 2018. Dallas has a great sense of dignity, and a polite personal space bubble although he’s rarely more than 6 feet from my side. Recently, though, as we walk around the house together, I will find Dallas waiting at the top or bottom of the stairs for me, giving me a pointed look. “Would you like me to carry you?” I ask, and Dallas will wait for me to pick him up. It’s a privilege to grow older together.
