Helly is an abandoned racing pigeon, rescued when he was less than a year old with a broken leg. He underwent successful ortho surgery and loves to jump, hop, fly, do figure-eight dances, build nests, take baths, and hang out with his buddy group of humans and fellow rescued pidges.
He turned 10 years old this year, and continues to fluff up and march grandly back and forth to display his magnificent jewel tones to whichever of his subjects may be watching. Alternately, he enjoys millet with orange oil and napping in dark cubbies.
