Snoke was my first rescue pigeon. He crash-landed in a neighbor’s yard, dazed but determined, trying to self-rescue to the only human in sight, who promptly called him “a weird-looking chicken.” I took him in, fed him, and watched as his strength returned. There was something about his quiet resilience, his trust despite fear, that lit a spark in me. Snoke wasn’t just a bird, he was the beginning. That one, small life opened a door. Rescuing him brought such unexpected joy, I couldn’t stop. He became the catalyst and the heart behind what would grow into a full rescue.
