My name is Nanda. I was hatched in a crowded loft with a lot of other pigeons. One day, when I was not even a year old, the humans said I was ready to “race.” They took me from my flock, drove me far away, and abandoned me outside. I tried to fly home, but I got hurt. I was lying on the ground waiting to die when some kind humans saved me. They took me to a hospital where they fix broken birds. With a lot of help I learned to stand and walk again. It took a long time, but they never gave up on me. Then I got adopted! Today I live in a house with my human flock and my pigeon wife Clementine, who I love with all my heart. To a pigeon, home and family are everything.
