A little about my entry...
Camper is a part-Basset Hound, full-time character, and possibly the only dog in Sonoma with a dedicated fan base. He was adopted in Tennessee, where he immediately began perfecting his signature look: short legs, expressive ears, and a set of front paws that rest naturally in first position, like a retired ballet dancer who’s now more into cheese than pliés.

Three years ago, Camper packed up his floppy self and moved to Sonoma with his three beloved children (human, but he doesn’t hold it against them). Since then, he’s been hiking every trail he can find. As Camper sees it, every stick deserves inspection, every breeze might hold a secret, and every bush could be harboring a squirrel-led uprising.

Social to his very core, Camper believes strangers are just friends who haven’t pet him yet. He’s got a tail wag that can be heard from across a vineyard, a deep Basset bark used sparingly for dramatic effect, and a gaze so soulful it’s caused at least two people to rethink their life choices.

Camper is not just a dog — he’s a vibe. A low-riding, trail-loving, ballet-footed philosopher in fur. And honestly? The world could use more of whatever he’s got going on.
