A little about my photo...
Aren't hummingbirds awesome? In our area, east of the Mississippi River, we have only one native species of hummingbird, the Ruby Throated. Males have the red throat, females do not. I have put up lots of feeders, and enjoy watching the birds come to feed and chase each other. Usually ants or wasps also find the feeders and can make a mess, so I just grow flowers with nectar they enjoy. Red or pink flowers with a cup or tube shape attract hummingbirds--and don't need to be cleaned and refilled! This painting is on an old window pane--I love repurposing items and keeping them out of our landfills.
