Maverick was adopted on January 16th, 2024. Our family was heartbroken after the loss of our beloved 9 year old German Shepherd “Jack” on Christmas Day, less than 3 weeks prior. After a friend of mine texted me and said there was a German Shepherd just brought to the shelter, I knew I had to go. One hour later, my husband and I walked into the shelter. The second I locked eyes with Maverick “Mavey”, I knew right then and there he was going home with us that day. It was like Jack sent him to us knowing we needed him to help mend our hearts.
