Remy the rescue dog is the most gentle, loving boy there ever was. His favorite snacks are ice cubes, his favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon and his favorite person is his dad. He loves the treat shoot at Firemaker and hates thunder storms. We found Remy at animal control where he was given 24 hours to find a home due to “food aggression” (he was starving and we have not seen him display this behaviour in the four years he has been part of our family). Thankfully, Wags and Wiggles was willing to pull him and what we originally thought was going to be a foster situation turned into a foster fail within days. It was meant to be. We got to work helping him gain the 25-30 pounds necessary to get him healthy and soon he was the center of our lives - he even walked down the aisle at our wedding and has gone on several trips! According to a DNA test, Remy is mostly Malinois and German Shepherd but we just refer to him as a perfect Heinz 57 mix em up! Remy lives in West Midtown so is a regular at Firemaker, and would love to be an advocate for his four-legged friends still looking for homes.

How would your pet spend a summer afternoon?
In an ideal, imaginary world where it isn’t 100 degrees in Atlanta during summer, Remy would go on a very long walk with his parents, followed by a picnic at Westside Park with his cousin and best friend, a trip to Firemaker for some treats and trivia, and a movie night with all of his loved ones to finish off the day.
