Share a short bio about your pet!
Hi! I'm Dekker. I may be nearly blind, but don't tell me that—I live life at full speed.

For the first five years of my life, I lived in a puppy mill, spending my days in a crate stacked among hundreds of other dogs. Thanks to Angels Among Us, I was given a second chance, and now I'm making up for lost time. My days are filled with walks (my favorite!), happy spins whenever I'm excited, belly rubs, and convincing everyone that thunderstorms should be afraid of me.

I like dogs more than people (don't take it personally!), and I'm definitely my dad's shadow. My family is so grateful I get to spend the rest of my life surrounded by the love, comfort, and freedom every dog deserves. My job is simple: make people smile and remind everyone that rescue pets are worth every second chance.

If your pet was a type of ice cream, what would they be and why?
Rocky Road. Life threw me a few bumps along the way, but I came out sweet, resilient, a little nutty, and full of surprises. Just like every good rescue story.

How would your pet celebrate PAWS Atlanta's 60th anniversary?
Dekker would throw the ultimate “Barkday Bash”—complete with toys, pup cups, belly rub stations, and enough treats to share with every rescue pet. After making sure every dog got a toy and every cat got a cozy nap spot, he’d spend the rest of the day greeting visitors with his famous smile, reminding everyone that rescue pets deserve a chance to be loved for the next 60 years and beyond.
