A little about me...
I adopted Nelly and her brother, Ellis, at 9 months old in May of 2002 from a shelter on Long Island. They were huddled together at the back of a cage - at first, I thought it was one cat but then Nelly popped her little head up from behind her brother and I realized there were 2 of them. They were unsocialized and so frightened in the busy shelter, I knew I had to take them and give them the home they deserved. After 2 weeks of decompressing in a hall closet , they finally started to venture out and make themselves at home and part of the family. Sadly, we lost Ellis to a stroke in 2016 at age 15. Nelly, who is now completely deaf, rules as Queen of her Castle. She enjoys her days in the sun, gourmet meals and lots of snuggles. She is our baby and we love her dearly!
