A little about me...
Duchess & Groot are a pair of Great Danes. They are not related to each other, as Duchess is 8 and she is the Black N White Mantle, and Groot is 3, and the Heavy Marked Brindlequin. Duchess is a rescue, she was rehomed to me, because her previous owner got a Dane for protection. They thought her bad habits, and she has a distinct personality to where she doesn’t like any other dogs, cats, and hesitant with people, especially men. She was two when I got her, and I worked with her behavior constantly. I couldn’t give up on her, she was so sad, and distrustful, especially seeing how I’m a male, and 6 foot 5. But after she knew she was safe, and could trust me, she’s became the best friend/dog I’ve ever had. I was very nervous about rescuing Groot, he was a pup only 9 weeks old when I brought him home from that horrible situation he was in. But, with a slow introduction, and a lot of work, Duchess n Groot are the best of buddies. Not once, has Duchess showed any signs of aggression towards him. In fact she has taken on the “Mother,” role with him and teaching him how to be a respectful man. It just goes to show, that no rescue should ever be given up on, because with some hard work, and love ( and goodies) anything is possible.
