Your Pet's Story or Bio
Jack and his litter-mates (two sisters, Lily and Janet) were confiscated as puppies and taken to a shelter as court evidence in a cruelty case. The whole family was found tied up in a remote area in the rural south covered in their own fifth. Jack and his family were brought to the shelter in July 2014. In September 2015, Jack was fortunate enough to hitch a ride up to Washington, D.C. with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, an organization which takes animals from overcrowded shelters in the rural south up north where adoption rates are statistically higher.

Jack was adopted in November 2015. He spent the majority of his life in a shelter and has only been in the 'real world' for a few months. Everything is new to him. You can follow his personal growth on instagram @jackthepibblepotamus

Jack's sister Lily lives nearby in Virginia, and his other sibling Janet is traveling the country! Janet was adopted by a trucker. This trucker took his parrot and (now deceased) dog on the road with him. When his dog passed away, the parrot started to yank out its feathers on a regular basis from stress and grief. While driving through South Carolina he stopped at the shelter to get a dog... for his bird!
