A little about me...
We adopted Leroy (aka Milo) from the Peninsula SPCA a year ago. We wanted a senior and Leroy was so polite in his meet and greet, we decided to give him a home that day! He was heartworm positive so those first few weeks were kind of quiet, letting him heal. Luckily, the vet said his heart X-rays looked good so probably no permanent damage. However, he was likely hit by a car at some point in his life, she said, because his back left leg showed signs of trauma. He’s got a bit of a limp - but we call that his swagger/Leroy limp. He is the gentlest of giants, shy, and loves to cuddle. We taught him how to walk on a leash and scavenger hunt for treats around the house proving that older dogs can definitely learn new tricks! He even seemed to learn how to break out of his shell a bit and play with our other dogs. Leroy had to have some teeth removed because some were rotten and infected - one even had a hole going straight through, like he had chewed barbed wire or something. He was very brave for his surgery and he sure likes to smile now and seems a whole lot more comfortable when he eats! We couldn’t be happier that Leroy boy is here with us. We are going to spoil him silly the rest of his days!
