Since 1963, the Peninsula SPCA has provided shelter and adoption services for the homeless pets of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and York County. In 2015, we transitioned to be an Adoption Guarantee, or "no kill" animal shelter. We remain committed to an adoption guarantee or "no-kill", model, focusing on our three core areas Adoption Center, Humane Education Learning Center and Barnyard, and Veterinary Clinic for Preventive Care. We provide care and shelter annually for nearly 1,000 homeless pets as they await their new forever families, vaccinate 1,400 pets through our clinic and reach more 6,000 people through education programs
