PAL therapy dog since
2015

PAL dog’s story or bio
Crusty joined Kerri's family in September 2013 as an emergency medical foster from the Washington Humane Society when he was about 1 year old. Foster Fail... he stayed! With lots of love and fulfillment of his basic needs, he quickly thrived and blossomed. He & Kerri began volunteering as a PAL therapy team in January 2015 after Kerri observed Crusty enthusiastically sharing his spunky and therapeutic spirit with everyone he met. Since then, Crusty has touched the lives of countless kids, adults and seniors in his community spreading joy and delight, providing comfort and support, and eliciting smiles and laughter. He was a shining beacon during the pandemic together with his brother Ricky as part of the on screen Read to a Dog program completing nearly two hundred sessions. He continues his work today at Melwood, GW Cancer Center, Gallaudet and is hoping to return to DC Libraries! #CrustyLove
