Cupcake came into our lives almost a week to the day after our old boxer Fruitcake died suddenly from a heart condition. We had a dear friend tell us she knew of someone surrendering a boxer that looked just like our old man to their local shelter that was full and that she would likely be put down in the next week. She sent us a picture of her and we didn't even have to think about it! She showed up the day before my birthday and we have been inseparable every since - she even comes to work with us! This picture is from her 2nd (re)Birthday and we cannot imagine our lives without her. I cannot imagine why anyone would abandon her - she is so loving to everyone she meets. It's hard to be in a bad mood when she's around. She brings us so much joy and loves to mother our 16 year old cat, Buckwheat. She will soon be a big sister to a real live baby and we can't wait!
