How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together? The County of Santa Clara Animal Shelter is located in a still-rural area, so we often provide temporary housing to dogs, cats, and a variety of animals. In late January, a goat in need of shelter was brought to our facility. We prepared a stable for her and were surprised when she delivered a bundle of joy on her 2nd day at the Shelter! This mama goat demonstrates the “Power of Together” and parental love by nurturing her newborn baby; and, the photo illustrates the “Power of Together” between the Shelter and a homeless animal needing a safe and warm place to stay (and in this case to give birth!). Shortly after the birth, mama and baby goat were adopted together by a resident of South Santa Clara County who reports they are doing well!
