Eligibility

Entrants must be a Minnesota resident and over the age of 18 at the time of entry.
Entry fee is $10 per photo, which buys 5 votes for the pet you entered. You may enter as many photos as you want but you must pay the entry fee for each photo entered. Each photo may only have one pet in it. You must submit a different entry for each pet.
Photos must be of dogs or cats only; people are not allowed in the photo. All animals must be depicted in a humane and dignified manner. Any photo that Pet Haven deems to be inappropriate or objectionable or that does not comply with rules will be removed from the contest.
Professional photos will not be accepted.

Entering a Photo

Entry period is from July 6, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. CDT through Aug. 3, 2021 at 11:59:59 p.m. CDT.
Photo entries must be no smaller than 1575 pixels x 2100 pixels, in RGB, .jpg or .eps format. Photos must be high resolution for printing purposes. If you are taking photos with your phone, please be sure to capture your image at the highest possible setting in order to meet resolution criteria.
Simple photo editing is allowed (cropping, brightness, hue enhancements, etc.) but no multilayered filters and effects.
Current Pet Haven staff and board members may enter, but will not be eligible for prizes.
By entering a photo, you warrant that you have the rights to use the photo and the entry does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party or violate the privacy rights of a third party.
You retain ownership of the photo(s) that you enter. By entering, you grant to Pet Haven a non-exclusive, universal, perpetual, sublicensable and irrevocable license to use the photo(s) you submit for Pet Haven's marketing, promotional and fundraising purposes, including in email newsletters, printed materials and online. You further grant Pet Haven the right to use your entry photo(s) and pet's name on Dual Citizen Rescue Brew labels and to publish your name on a list of contest winners.
Pet Haven reserves the right to remove or disqualify any photo and submission statement entered in the contest for any reason. We will notify you if we remove or disqualify your photo and refund your entry fee if desired.
By entering, I represent and warrant that my photo and submission statement is my own fully original creation, and the photo does not and will not infringe or violate the rights of any third parties, including intellectual property and privacy rights. By entering, I give Pet Haven permission to use my entry for fundraising and promotional purposes, with appropriate credit.

Voting

Each vote is $1. There is no limit to the number of times a person can vote.
Voting period begins July 6, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. CDT and ends on August 2, 2021 at 12:CDT.

Prizes

The GRAND PRIZE winners (2) will be the one cat and one dog whose entries received the most votes in their respective categories at the close of the voting period. Their images and names will appear together on the Dual Citizen Rescue Brew release labels.
In the event of a tie vote in either category, the winner will be the participant with the earlier entry date.
SECOND and THIRD place winners (2) will be the next two contest entries with the highest votes – whether they are dogs or cats.
In the event that two photos receive the same number of votes, second and third prizes will go to the participants with the earlier entry date.
All winners will be notified by August 4, 2021 via e-mail. Second and third place prizes will be sent to winners via U.S. mail no later than August 15, 2021.
