Founded in 1952,
Pet Haven is proud to be Minnesota's first and oldest foster-based animal rescue celebrating 70 years of saving lives. Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Minnesota dogs and cats. We support reducing pet overpopulation through our spay and neuter efforts and we provide resources to help improve the lives of pets and people.

How We Help
What We Do
We help Minnesota dogs and cats in crisis find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat is placed with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal's temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we're working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
- We spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip, Felv test cats, and 4DX test dogs prior to adoption. This ensures you are getting a healthy new family member!
- We do not euthanize animals unless they have an untreatable health or behavioral condition that denies them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
