Rules

Eligibility

Entrants must be a Minnesota resident and over the age of 18 at the time of entry.
Entry fee is $5 per photo. You may enter as many photos as you want but you must pay the entry fee for each photo entered. Each photo may only have one pet in it. You must submit a different entry for each pet.
Photos must be of dogs or cats only; people are not allowed in the photo. All animals must be depicted in a humane and dignified manner. Any photo that Pet Haven deems to be inappropriate or objectionable or that does not comply with rules will be removed from the contest.
Professional photos will not be accepted.

Entering a Photo

Entry period is May 15, 2019 12:00 a.m. CST through 11:59:59 p.m. CST on June 30, 2019.
Photo entries must be no smaller than 1575 pixels x 2100 pixels, in RGB, .jpg or .eps format. Photos must be high resolution for printing purposes. If you are taking photos with your phone, please be sure to capture your image at the highest possible setting in order to meet resolution criteria.
Simple photo editing is allowed (cropping, brightness, hue enhancements, etc.) but no multilayered filters and effects.
Pet Haven staff and board members may enter, but will not be eligible for prizes.
By entering a photo, you warrant that you have the rights to use the photo and the entry does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party or violate the privacy rights of a third party.
You retain ownership of the photo(s) that you enter. By entering, you grant to Pet Haven a non-exclusive, universal, perpetual, sublicensable and irrevocable license to use the photo(s) you submit for Pet Haven's marketing, promotional and fundraising purposes, including in email newsletters, printed materials and online. You further grant Pet Haven the right to use your entry photo(s) and name in the 2020 Pet Haven Pin-Ups calendar and to publish your name in a list of winners.
Pet Haven reserves the right to remove or disqualify any photo entered in the contest for any reason. We will notify you if we remove or disqualify your photo and refund your entry fee if desired.
By entering, I represent and warrant that my photo is my own fully original creation, and the photo does not and will not infringe or violate the rights of any third parties, including intellectual property and privacy rights. By entering, I give Pet Haven permission to use my entry for fundraising and promotional purposes, with appropriate credit.

ALL PHOTOS PUBLISHED IN THE CALENDAR WILL BE THOSE SUBMITTED BY CONTEST ENTRANTS.

Voting

Each vote is $1. There is no limit to the number of times a person can vote.
Voting period is May 15, 2019 12:00 a.m. CST through 11:59:59 p.m. CST on June 30, 2019.

Prizes

The GRAND PRIZE winners (2) will be the cat and dog photos with the most votes in their respective categories at the close of the voting period.f
The Grand Prize is a professional photo session with a photographer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area. Additionally, the winning photos will grace the outside and inside of our calendar cover and the winners will receive a copy of the calendar. Transportation to and from the photo session is the winner's responsibility.
The FIRST PRIZE winners (12) will be the next 12 photos with the highest votes – whether they are dogs or cats. Each of those winning photos will be featured on one month of the 2020 Pet Haven Pin-Ups calendar and the winners will receive a copy of the calendar.
In the event that two photos receive the same number of votes, both will be included among the 12 winners.
All winners will be notified by July 15, 2019. The Grand Prize winners' professional photo sessions will be scheduled based on the photographer's availability.
Any individual who contributes $25 or more through entry fees, voting fees or a combination thereof will receive a copy of the 2020 Pet Haven Pin-Ups calendar.
